Lesson 1:

Lucy the Bean Queen

The Lucy Show Bible Study
Volume 1

Lesson 3:

Lucy Gets Trapped

Lesson 2
:
Lucy’s Substitute Secretary

Lesson 4:

Lucy Gets Caught in the Draft

Lucy the Bean Queen

The Biblical principle is Schemes, and the key scripture is
Ecclesiastes 7:29 “This only have I found: God made mankind upright,
but men have gone in search of many schemes.”

Follow Lucy as she schemes to get rich quick—if she doesn’t get caught first. When a bean company guarantees customer satisfaction or double your money back, Lucy buys double the beans to get quadruple the cash! But after she sees the beans more than satisfy her tastebuds, Lucy must clean not only her plate but her conscience of her schemes with beans.

Lucy’s Substitute Secretary

The Biblical principle is Worry, and the key scripture is
Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Lucy becomes worried when she schedules a vacation and the temporary secretary tries to become permanent! As the replacement girl frets about being the boss’s favorite, Mr. Mooney sweats losing a big bank client, and Lucy fears her job security is being escorted out. So with a little help from a few disguises, Lucy launches a wacky plan to stop the worries at work!

Lucy Gets Trapped

The Biblical principle is Lies, and the key scripture is
Leviticus 19:11 “ ‘Do not steal. Do not lie. Do not deceive one another.’ ”

Catch Lucy in a lie when she fakes sickness to leave work for a big store sale. After Lucy sees an ad for huge discounts, she has dollar signs in her eyes—but tells Mr. Mooney she is seeing spots. However, her fabrication fails her when she becomes the lucky store customer chosen for free merchandise—and her picture in the newspaper!

Lucy Gets Caught in the Draft

The Biblical principle is Legalism, and the key scripture is
Matthew 7:12 “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

Lucy gets drafted in an accident that is technically legal—but should be against the law! When a misspelled name causes “Lou C.” to receive her draft notice, she’s deemed fit to serve by the military men—who follow the letter of legalism instead of the love in their hearts. (Bonus: In the end, the only person right to replace Lucy is America's most beloved Marine—Gomer Pyle!)
